Images of Santa Claus were further popularized through Haddon Sundblom’s depiction of him for The Coca-Cola Company’s Christmas advertising in the 1930s. The popularity of the image spawned urban legends that Santa Claus was invented by The Coca-Cola Company or that Santa wears red and white because they are the colors used to promote the Coca-Cola brand.

Also, as in the twentieth century, the Coca-Cola commissioned the painter Habdon Sundblom to remodel the figure of Santa Claus / Father Christmas to make it more human and believable.

Not, the personage was not a marketing … but his red suit if. It had never put attention to because the Christmas is red with green in general. The red adornments with white and everything it has a reason, many years behind Coca Tail decided to dress Holy Claus in a Red suit in white (red it is the color of Coca Tail, as well as also of the communism). It was very ingenious, because almost every human being on having seen red with green thinks: " Oh if … it is the Christmas ".

Up to where it comes the marketing is impressive. Insurance if Pepsi had done the same thing, here estariamos all putting blue adornments and Holy Claus would dress for fault a blue suit. It had been so comical as to imagine if the North was the South … it would be the same dirt

Amor and Joaquin says It is true what you mentioned earlier. The change of color and shape gave it the Coca-Cola, if you notice Santa has a bottle (of the first of glass) Here is what they use something called advertising metalanguage is a language that conveys something more than the product itself, but an idea, a way of life. The chubby face of Santa is all happiness, its white and red are the emblem of the brand, the body shape of Santa denote the shape of the bottle, big black boots the base, broad waist: middle part the bottle (wider) and cap overflowing foam from opening. For the kids is the most anticipated monent of the year and so will as a souvenir for life, thus fijandondonos Coca-Cola brand associated to happiness from children, a subliminal memory forever linked to a brand. "Coca-Cola is so"

It is true what you mentioned earlier. The change of color and form were given by Coca-Cola, if you realize Santa Claus is shaped like a bottle (of the first glass).
